July 21st

A day of risk assessing, policies and procedures. It’s hard work but I love writing these and hopefully they will keep everyone as safe as they can possibly be. More to go, and there will no doubt be several revisions and amendments, but that’s the nature of the unknown beast that is COVID19.

Afternoon Run

Running in the clouds is not a nice experience - and also didn’t make the best decision to start a long tempo run by a pretty much vertical climb to the top of Stormy Down (aptly named!). Struggled with this one but completed it

Afternoon Run

Nice easy run to end the week. Kept it really slow as long run tomorrow. But really enjoyed it and met some friends on the way round. So today circumstances meant I hardly moved anywhere.

But has a really exciting meeting with the charity I am running the marathon for Royal Free Charity. Meeting with the lead neurologist, Heather Angus Leppan and two members of the charity I heard what the money will be used for. It will be used for developing a vital app - the Epilepsy Risk Awareness scale to reduce the risks of epilepsy while maintaining personal freedom and independence. Epilepsy can make it seem like people have lost all their freedom and independence and this app allows the person with epilepsy to track their progress, risks in their home, work and leisure and how to be safer but still have the best possible quality of life.

So this will cost £5000-£10000 to build and deliver. It will then be sent out for free to all people with epilepsy, all NHS hospitals and trusts, private care providers and charities. Basically to everyone who needs it. This app

will then allow more research to be undertaken to develop it even further. So although it sounds like a lot of money it really isn’t for all the people it will reach and help. So I’m aiming to raise £10000 if not by the marathon, by the end of next year. I am genuinely really excited and will try so hard to raise the money. If anyone can help would be amazing. Just sponsor me even £5. And soread my JustGiving Page to anyone who can help.
