A Little About Me!
Hi! Im Sarah. Nice to meet you!
So in order to stop annoying the world of facebook with constant updates I said I would do a Blog. I have never done one of these so please bear with me.
So who am I? Im an ex gymnast, ex trampolinist (competing until very recently), Trampoline Coach, Trampoline Judge, Qualified UKCC Tutor and AVRA Assessor. So my whole life in sport has been of the non-aerobic indoor variety!
Workwise I have a degree in English Literature, a Teaching Qualification and am a Qualified Solicitor. I also have qualfiications as a Project Management Practioner, PRINCE2 Agile, ITIL and Change Management - I really am a desk monkey!
I initially worked in social care managing and then implementing IT Client Record Management systems when social care management went from council to privately run. I moved to equalities - risk assessing policies and procedures and their implementation, running a multi million pound project for LGBT rights and training before moving into a Charity to work in their funding and finance department.
Following this I started a Sports and Leisure Servicing Business until March 2020 when I took on a Non Executive Role in order to train as a Production Accountant for Netflix.
Unfortunately epilepsy and COVID 19 stopped all of that and so I have moved back into healthcare as it turns out my most useful qualification is a Level 5 NVQ in HealthCare Management! I now work in Project Support at the Royal Free London NHS Trust - so basically a full circle back into IT in Health and Social Care!! I also work as bank Healthcare Assistant/Healthcare Support Worker in London and Wales and am still coaching trampoline.
It turns out I am as passionate as I always was about the quality of patient care enhanced by the implementation of IT and new technologies, including AI and VR, so am loving the move back into this sector. So much so that I am starting a Masters Degree in Health Informatics on 5th October!
So why do I think I cant run? Firstly I have always been told I cant and have always admitted that that is true. I also have epilepsy and I have ankle arthritis from multiple breaks and knees that have ligaments stapled back on following the years of sport. I spent my life doing indoor anaerobic sports and struggle to run 20m across a sports hall. Basically I am not the shape, body type or have any fitness to run let alone a marathon!!
