On the day my other half got his redundancy letter I was tired (totally struggled getting out of bed) but the plan called for a recovery run and I needed to destress. Unfortunately had to cut it short as it was too busy with people for me to be out safely, but I did enough.

Rest day today - filled with housecleaning and yoga instead (way harder than running) and visit to the hospital. One of my lilies has come up - they were my grandmothers favourite flower. She was one of two people who taught and encouraged me on my love of gardening. I’m allergic to the pollen but I grow them every year outside in her memory (these aren’t the prettiest though!!)
Today I should have been going to the National Running Show and then to Cornwall on holiday. Instead I’m watching the Running Show online whilst working and cleaning my house. I think it’s the first time I won’t have been to Cornwall on holiday since the year I was born. The hardest part is, we should have been going with my parents. I now realise that I haven’t seen them since February and as they get older you wonder if we will get another holiday together. It’s been my greatest worry over lockdown: the time we have missed together which we can’t get back. Just the little things like a cup of tea when you are passing. Phone calls aren’t quite the same. So the one thing everyone should do after lockdown: remember to take time to spend with those who matter to you. When the world gets busy again it is hard to find time. It’s been a sad irony that lockdown has given us so much time we never normally have, but we haven’t been able to spend it with family and friends. I miss that face to face contact so much.
So someone amazing has sent me their old Apple Watch to use - I lost my old one and it turned up broken (after someone has used it to hack into all my Apple accounts!). I needed it for some much more than just the running apps.
But anyway you know who you are and thank you so so much. Xxx

So today was long run day. Was one of those “running through peanut butter days” but I managed 6.2 miles followed by a gin/chocolate milk mix for World Gin Day. My useless phone gave up on mapping when it thought I was in Hatfield for 10 minutes and stopped the apps, but at least I have a watch to record it now (thank you so much Jen). Spent the rest of the day trying to pretend I was where I should have been this week - on holiday in Cornwall - whilst working. Not quite the same. And who knew you could overheat a laptop....!!
I cleaned my house yesterday - vacuumed, steamed floor, dusted, polished, washed all ornaments etc. It looked lovely. I get up today and it appears I didn’t do anything at all. 3000 steps later and it almost looks as it did. I went to bed 2 hours before the other two - what on earth did they get up to? Mass rave...:had the world in to party...? No, apparently - a late night snack???
