3rd July

So today is all about rain....proper heavy welsh rain (in wales we are like the eskimos are with snow - we have more words for rain than anything else). Horizontal, wind blown rain. But my plan said run, so run I did. I did have to cut it short by a mile as it just got too wet and slippery. Strava didn’t work because phone was too wet. MapMyRun was struggling with the GPS as ever so no idea if the time is right, but today it was me v rain. I think it was a draw!!!

11 mile run in training for the London Marathon (whenever it happens!) where I am honoured to be running as part of the team for the #royalfreecharity Running in the wind was a little like running on the spot and it appears that I basically ran up hill for 11 miles. Not fast but it’s all about the miles at this point. Massive thanks to Bridgend Police who stopped when I fell over and gave me a donation when I explained why I was running so far. Penblwydd hapus GIG Cymru / Happy Birthday NHS. #thankyoutogether #royalfreecharity

4m easy pace

All I can say is I think I have scarped the barrel on the energy front today to get round. Just nothing left for some reason. Just glad to finish!!

4 x 1000m sprints

Speed training - this just proves I am not any kind of short distance runner (as in it appears 5k is too short!). I never thought I’d see the day when I said I would prefer to run 10k+!! Typical welsh day - not really raining but completely soaked through by drizzle and you couldn’t see the sea for the fog. Perfect summer really! 1k speeds: 7.38 6.28 6.33 6.09
